Hannah Bannister is Sales & Marketing Director for Peepal Tree Press, the leading publisher of Caribbean and Black British fiction, poetry, literary criticism, memoirs and historical studies.
She joined the company some nineteen years ago as an intern, and has seen Peepal Tree grow to become the world’s largest publisher of Caribbean and Black British writing. Hannah is also responsible for Peepal Tree’s design and production, and is the main point of contact for their 180 authors. Peepal Tree is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, and has built a list which boasts both established names such as Earl Lovelace, Kwame Dawes and Lakshmi Persaud, as well as championing a significant proportion of new voices. Peepal Tree is also home to Inscribe, a project which offers significant professional development opportunities for Black and Asian writers in the UK. Over the years, Hannah has built up a considerable wealth of experience in the publishing sector, and has a wide knowledge of the UK and international publishing scene. A voracious and eclectic reader, she is very much looking forward to discovering a wealth of hidden new talent!
